Hoover Dam - Principles of Transformer Maintenance with Hoover Dam Tour

This course introduces the student to a range of topics summarizing the basic fundamentals of transformers and transformer maintenance including basic electric concepts, introduction to transformers, solid and liquid insulation, oil testing and analysis, basic electrical testing, and maintenance.

Also included in this course is a VIP tour of the Hoover Dam! See, learn and appreciate what it's all about.  The Hoover Dam has been rated by the American Society of Civil Engineers as one of "America's Seven Modern Civil Engineering Wonders". The 10-acre facility houses 17 generators and produces more than four billion kilowatt hours of electricity in a year.

We will explain and provide examples of qualitative and quantitative interpretation of dissolved gases and how to evaluate the condition of cellulose insulation.
