SDMyers will present and exhibit at Reliable Plant 2019 from April 16-18, 2019, in Chicago, Ill., on the topic of risks to a power system and the steps to building a systemwide reliability plan.

The greatest risk to any form of a power or manufacturing facility is the power supply. From the standpoint of an electric power system, there are four critical asset classes in that system that are under stress: transformers, cables, breakers, relays and protective equipment.

We will present the basics of:

• The attributes of each critical asset class from a system perspective
• The failure modes associated with each asset from a system view
• The methods of detection for the system assets
• The steps to build a systemwide reliability plan
