Lions and tigers and liquid sampling, oh my!

SDMyers mobile diagnostic technicians (MDTs) live life on the road. Covering multi-state territories, our MDTs offer a wealth of transformer knowledge—as well as some entertaining stories from their travels. You can get to know 10-year MDT veteran Lee Willig in this special feature interview. Lee shares details about his inspection work, practical reliability advice, and the inside scoop on where he needs to watch for mountain lions versus which state he actually encountered a bear!

What to monitor and why (plus how to justify the spend!)

Many practitioners believe that remote monitoring is the future of asset management… but, in reality, that “future” is already here. Join SDMyers and Camlin Energy, our electric power reliability partner, for a free webinar on Wednesday, July 28, entitled “Driving electrical reliability in 2022: Building a business case for data-driven asset management.” We’re teaming up with Camlin to discuss criticality assessments, must-have monitoring features, financial justification, risk management, sustainability, and more. We’re also saving lots of time for your application-specific questions.

3 Ways to bring your old cabinet transformer up to speed.

The average U.S. transformer is somewhere around 35-years-old, which is toward the end of its reliable life. However, with reliability-centered maintenance transformers can last much longer. If your operation is running on a vintage transformer, these three updates can make it much easier to perform your routine maintenance tasks safely and consistently: external sampling devices, IR inspection windows, IoT monitors. External sampling devices and IR windows allow for oil sampling and visual and infrared inspection without the need to deenergize, while IoT sensors enable you to gather critical condition data from anywhere.

Help! Can I talk to someone about my Transformer Dashboard®?

You sure can… and his name is Larry. Larry Noel is a customer service pro and something of a Transformer Dashboard® guru. This summer, you can join a one-hour virtual Lunch & Learn with Larry session. You’ll learn how to use Transformer Dashboard® to interpret transformer test results, plan data-driven maintenance tasks, avoid surprise reliability issues, improve lifecycle planning, and more. Larry’s offering these free learning sessions twice a month all summer, so find a date that works for you and get ready to pick Larry’s brain!
